Chocolate Cake with Fresh Strawberry Buttercream

Chocolate Cake

So I cheated again . .  and made the semi home-made way.  Just take a box of Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake Mix and follow instructions by substituting 3/4 c Egg Beaters for the 3 eggs.  Then I decreased the water to 1 cup and added 1/4 c of Heavy Cream.


Filling for center of layers

1/2 C Pureed Strawberries
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla

Strawberry Buttercream

4 1/4 C Powdered Sugar
1 1/2 C Butter (room temp)
1 Tbsp Vanilla
1/4 cup Fresh Strawberry Puree
3 Tbsp Heavy Cream

Using the Chop N Prep Chef, puree 3-4 Fresh Strawberries. Cream ingridents in Mixer until light and fluffy 🙂 Then use Tupperware’s Squeeze it Decorator to pipe ring between layers to keep strawberry filling in place.  The after assembling and frosting cake use Decorator again to embellish.

To Garnish: Fresh Sliced Strawberries
