Have you ever had a dream that has repeated in your mind? One that repeats sometimes over years, not just weeks? I have had two different kinds of dreams myself that have repeated in my soul for decades.
The first is my dream of giving a speech in front of a filled auditorium. The dream has shifted through the years as my personal life has changed, but the passion and vivid details remained the same. At first, I was pregnant in the dream as I was giving that speech. The baby kicked mid-sentence, and then I broke down crying and shared with the crowd what I just felt. I passionately talked about how blessed I am to have been raised in Tupperware. I shared how I was looking forward to being there for my children. I reiterated how powerful the Tupperware Opportunity is and what a blessing it is for your family to choose it as a career.
When that dream wasn’t a reality anymore (my girls had been born – and momma was not going to be pregnant again, lol), it shifted. I aged in my dream, the location and surroundings would change, but I was still talking to an auditorium of women. I connected with the masses, and the words I shared made a difference and brightened their day.
The second is not a dream I saw when I slept, but one I felt in my heart. I have always wanted to write a book titled: Born, Raised & Burped, Fresh Tips to Success in Direct Sales & Life.
I have always imagined that the cover would be filled with fun typography, and the photo-sharing of my bio would be one where I am sitting on a wall, flowers all around me, laughing with a twinkle in my eye.
I have started my book multiple times. Even before clients and customers told me, “You need to write a book,” I have had a Google Drive of voice notes, verbal vomits, outlines, layouts, and more. You can find chicken scratch in multiple notebooks where I had ideas or stories I wanted to share so I could come back to them later. But I have never really sat down and completed it.
I have made excuses, telling myself, “I wasn’t ready, I still need to learn more before I can start sharing with authority.” Then, I was worried about how much to share. Do I talk about my toxic relationships? Being in an emotionally abusive one? Do I talk about the gaslighting and how I lost who I was to the point I had nothing left to even pretend I was okay? How vulnerable did I need to be?
Then, there has been my pride & ego. I still remember standing on the steps as #2 and I were breaking up. He knew about the book, so he said, “Now you can share about this to help your story and sell your book.”
Hello, reverse psychology.
Hello the torment I felt for years about not wanting to give him the satisfaction of being right, because then the rest would be true . . that I was the cause of his triggers, and I was not enough.
What I am realizing is the real question is, “What am I afraid of?”
I have chosen a career in sales where I constantly have to put myself out there. I have had to be tenacious and learn to overcome objections. I know that rejection is not personal and that we have to just keep going.
So how is this different? It is different because it’s not a product or service – it’s ME. Will I be judged? Laughed at? I don’t know.

What I do know is it is time for my story to be told. It is time to start sharing the dreams & nuggets in my head. My experiences from not only a life in direct sales but also life and the valleys I have climbed out of.
By starting his blog series, I am committing to sharing with you the lessons, the struggles, the solutions, and more.
Please, comment on what resonates and celebrate this journey with me. Let’s encourage each other love ourselves for where we are and where we have been.
