This week for Fresh Tip Tuesday we went BANANAS! Not only did we make a Banana Bread in less than 4 minutes, but we made a super yummy Banana Cream Pie Smoothie. If for some crazy reason bananas are not in your diet, then you should consider adding them. Bananas are known for their potassium which helps with cramps, swelling, alertness and lowering blood pressure. They also help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan. (Tryptophan is the natural mood-enhancer, which is converted into serotonin – the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter.) That means less PMS, depression and stress! The list goes on and on, just trust me, bananas are the BOMB!
If you do not have a Breakfast Maker, you can do your own variation of the banana bread in a coffee cup. You can scoop up my Fresh Product Pick today on my website, www.twcorinne.com, so you can be making this recipe and more at home 🙂
Check out the clip, and let me know what you think when you try these out!
Banana Nut Bread
1 ripe banana
3 TBS of sour cream or yogurt
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup chocolate chips or raisins (opt)
1/2 cup of chopped pecans or other choice of nuts
Put the chopped nuts in the breakfast maker. Pour the batter over the nuts and cook 4-5 minutes on high. Make sure you serve with the nuts showing.
**Variations – We omitted the nuts and added extra chocolate chips on the Fresh Tip Tuesday Segment. That way those with nut allergies could enjoy as well.
